Here is how this works in practice. We supply Steadicam and gimbal operators for South Africa shoots tied to your camera package, shot list and shooting style. Many of our Steadicam operators are owner-operators carrying their own rigs, set to supporting heavy cinema bodies through long takes, stair work and demanding terrain. Our gimbal operators run DJI Ronin and Freefly MoVI systems for run-and-gun mobility, low-mode work and dynamic choreography, with gear sourced where needed through Cape Town and Johannesburg rental houses that carry the full range of stabilisation sites.

Here is the short of it. Operators join the production early, reviewing storyboards and location constraints to recommend whether Steadicam or gimbal best serves each sequence, and they build in rehearsal time for tricky one-take and choreographed moves. We often combine stabilised work with dollies, cranes, cable cam and car mounts on the same shoot. The DTIC production rebates, in the past around a 25 percent rebates of qualifying local spend for foreign shoots, together with the favourable rand exchange rate, makes movement-heavy shoots cost-good here.
