We document everything in clear reports with photographs, measurements and layout notes, so the cinematographer, gaffer, sound recordist, location manager and assistant director can plan from accurate information rather than guesswork. Because South African schedules range so widely, we tailor each survey to the environment, noting heat, dust and wildlife factors on bushveld units, tide and exposure on the coast, and altitude and weather in the mountains. The result is a survey package that feeds directly into scheduling, gear planning and budgeting.

Here is the breakdown. South Africa's geographic range is exactly why thorough site surveys matter here. A single production can move from controlled stages at Cape Town Film Studios to Table Mountain. The Cape Peninsula, then to the semi-desert Karoo, the high Drakensberg, the Garden Route and Wild Coast, or the Big Five bushveld of the Kruger National Park, while Johannesburg offers dense urban locations. Each environment presents distinct technical challenges: remote sites routinely need generator self-sufficiency because mains power.
